‘The Sisters’ Song’ is ideal for book clubs as it’s dense with issues for discussion, ranging from mother-child relationships and sibling rivalry, to music and mental health.
Allen and Unwin have prepared a fantastic book club package, which includes some notes I’ve written to go with it. You can download the reading group notes by clicking the link on this page. (Please note, the questions contain spoilers, so it’s probably best not to read them until after you’ve read the book.)
BOOK CLUB VISITS
One of the most rewarding things about being an author is discussing your book with readers, so I’d love to visit your book club to discuss ‘The Sisters’ Song’, its themes, inspirations and development!
If you’re within the Perth metropolitan area, I can visit in person, and for anywhere else in Australia, we could arrange a meeting via Skype. I’ve also prepared a book club package that includes some of the photos and artefacts that inspired the book, as well as a small gift for each member.
If you’d like to book a date and time, please contact me via this link.
By the way, there’s no charge for me to visit your book club—the fact everyone’s bought a copy of my book is enough!
Here’s a short video about ‘The Sisters’ Song’, in which I tell you a bit about the story and why it makes a good book club read:
