AUTHOR TALKS

One of the most rewarding things about being an author is discussing your book with readers, so I’d love to visit your library, writing group or writers’ centre to talk about writing ‘The Sisters’ Song’, its themes, inspirations and development, or about writing and the writing process in general.

If you’d like to book a speaking engagement with me, please let me know via the CONTACT page.

Please note that due to the preparation, time and travel involved, I charge the fee recommended by the Australian Society of Authors for these events unless it is for a charitable cause.

BOOK CLUBS

‘The Sisters’ Song’ is ideal for book clubs as it’s dense with issues for discussion, ranging from mother-child relationships and sibling rivalry, to music and mental health.

Allen and Unwin have prepared a fantastic book club package, which includes notes I’ve written to go with it. You can download the reading group notes by clicking the link on this page. (Please note, the questions contain spoilers, so it’s probably best not to read them until after you’ve read the book.)

WritingWA, who chose ‘The Sisters’ Song’ as their book of the month for February 2018, have also prepared some thoughtful questions

By the way, I don’t charge to visit book clubs in the Perth metro area—the fact everyone’s bought a copy of my book is enough!

Here’s a short video about ‘The Sisters’ Song’, in which I tell you a bit about the story and why it makes a good book club read:
